Chinki

"He doesn't love me anymore.. Mummy, has he ran off to Pinky?" Pinky always gave him good treats and he used to enjoy playing with Pinky, much to Jacky's displeasure and jealousy. "You don't let him go out of your sight for a minute, it isn't fair on poor Chinki. Wouldn't he like to go out and have some fun with the other dogs?Don't worry so much, he'll be back by evening."

But something told her he wouldn't come back. Chinki had never never run out of the house before."Let him go, I don't care" Jacky said, teary eyed, and burst out crying. Her little puppy, whom she had pampered and loved so much, had just run away. She couldn't believe it. She thought of the times when Chinki wanted to go out of the house, and she would pull him back. She made him play the games she wanted to play. Did she care whether he liked them? Did she let him mingle with others' pets? She was feeling terrible. "Maybe Mummy was right. I shouldn't have been so possessive about him. Serves me right." She was in half mind to call up Pinky, but she didn't, half scared that he had actually ran to her place. She began to cry again, tears staining her beautiful white dress. "I better change before Mom finds out", she said and opened the cupboard.

There he was. Chinki. With his puppy face, angel eyes and wagging tail. He was suffocated and scared. He jumped into her arms and started whining badly. They both cried.
